On Saturday night I attended this lady’s birthday dinner at Lincoln’s new American Smokehouse, ‘Ribs ‘n’ Bibs’, on the strait. It only opened on Thursday (Valentine’s Day) so I was very excited to be one of the first to experience it!
They smoke the meat on the premises, using classic smoke ovens imported from the States, and are open 7 days a week from breakfast until late. Holy wow.
Just reading through the menu made me feel heavier; it boasts giant burgers, chicken-wing challenges and ribs racks served on trays. I’ve also heard that they serve pancakes with bacon and syrup on their breakfast menu, which I fully intend to demolish at some point.
The drink options are also very authentic; root beer, ice cream floats and iced tea; it’s a menu that has been missing from my life for far too long.
If you can squeeze in a pudding, which I begrudgingly couldn’t, our table ordered a variety of pies and cakes including New York Vanilla Cheesecake and Key Lime pie, of which I managed to muster up a mouthful! Thick crust is so good.
I haven’t even mentioned my favourite part of the meal; the sweet potato fries. I enjoyed these with the rack of ribs, rather than the cheesecake, just couldn’t stop eating them.
I’m really pleased that a place like this has opened up right on our doorstep. Despite my size I am a huge fan of calories and general messy eating, so I highly recommend you go and see what I mean.
